Hi, All,
I wanted to let you know of a pin my sister has made in remembrance of the awful events of Sept. 11th. The first she made just for a friend of hers because the friend asked her to create something for her that she could wear as a symbol of respect and pride. That friend wore it to work and several women wanted one, too. After about a dozen orders my sister started to charge for the pin. She bought more materials and each pin takes quite a bit of handwork. Those seed beads are TINY!
Now she is getting calls from all over, requesting these pins. They have a very nice look. The beads have a bit of sparkle to them. They don't look "cutesy" or cheap. I'm now helping her, as needed.
I'm telling you all of this because it is important that you know that she heard from others how they need, and want, to show their American pride in some meaningful way. She has created a small symbol that fills that need. We feel, with each and every pin we make a very strong pride in doing so. (I'm now helping her make them.)
I just wanted you to know about the availability of this pin. We can make it in silver or gold tone. The kilt pin itself is unique in that the head is a patented screw off type. This means that the individual beaded "stick pins" do not fall off when you open and close the pin, as you would with just a plain old safety pin. The kilt pin has a nice weight.
Let me know if you, or your friends, would like to purchase a pin. Each pin is $15, which includes mailing, with $1.50 of each pin sold donated directly to The Red Cross. E-mail me your pin color request, along with your address. Please include any other contact information, such as your name, e-mail and phone! You may send a check or money order to me at:

Here's a tip from a government website...
Whenever displaying the American Flag, make sure the field (of blue) is to the left of whomever is VIEWing it. I know most of you know this, but it can't hurt as a reminder.
My hubby gave me a good tip when I wear my pin. If I look in the mirror and it looks right (as in the above tip, field on left), then it is NOT right.
If I look in the mirror and it looks WRONG, then it is RIGHT! (As in the field LOOKs like it is on the right, so a person looking at you sees the (proper) field on the LEFT! You'll see! (When you are wearing a flag pin, check it out.)
Anyway, I just wanted to pass this info along to you. Please forward this if you feel you know anyone who might be interested in "Ali's Flag Pin." Tell them they can e-mail me at quirkykim@aol.com, or come to this site. www.acreativeye.com and click on the Flag Pin graphic above the fold on my main page. It takes you to this page.
Thank you for reading this message. The message, and the creation of each pin, is from the heart.
My Best,
Kim Banta
